Laguna Niguel is ideally located halfway between Los Angeles and San Diego in the heart of California's South Orange County, surrounded by the cities of Laguna Beach, Dana Point, Aliso Viejo, San Juan Capistrano and Mission Viejo.

As one of the first master planned communities in California, Laguna Niguel was built around the concept of natural open space, with over one third of the land reserved to parks and recreational areas. The city has 4 county parks, 2 community parks, 23 neighborhood parks, 3 mini-parks, a dog park, and a skate/soccer park. Many areas are designated as wildlife sanctuaries. Thanks to the hilly setting, residents enjoy miles of hiking, biking, horseback riding and walking trails with picturesque views of the Pacific coastline, canyons and valleys. Golfing, picnicking and beach activities such as swimming, surfing or sunbathing are also popular.

A great blend of single family homes and two to three stories townhome and condominium buildings is what defines the real estate landscape of Laguna Niguel. The city is home to many upscale neighborhoods including Bear Brand Ridge, Ocean Ranch and Monarch Point with most property values exceeding $4,000,000. Other major neighborhoods include Niguel Summit, El Niguel Heights, Crest De Ville, Marina Hills, Beacon Hill, San Joaquin Hills, Kite Hill, Rancho Niguel and Laguna Heights. Recent years have been seeing record sales well above the average Southern California real estate numbers, with 868 single family homes sold in 2005 at a record median price of $847,000 – an increase of 10.7% over the previous year.
